History
The Eighty-third Fang was formerly known as the 202nd Striker Cluster and a part of Delta Galaxy.
During a raid against Federated Commonwealth forces, the previous commander was manipulated into including his DropShips in the bid by the opposing commander. This allowed the FedCom fighters to target them, destroying two-thirds of the 202nd in their transports, and sending the remainder of the unit into retreat.
As punishment, the 202nd was stripped of its front-line status, renamed and transferred to Psi Galaxy,
