The Ninth was not on the Steel Viper roster in 3067. Its final fate is not known, but it is likely that it was destroyed when the Vipers were ejected from the Inner Sphere. History

The Ninth Fang had taken up position on the planet Waldorff by 3054.[1] It was badly damaged when the Seventh Talon Cluster of Clan Jade Falcon raided the planet in June 3057, and was still recovering in December 3060.[2]

Sometime during their time on Waldorff, a company of Twenty-third Arcturan Guards launched a harassment raid on Waldorff. While the raiders were ranging away from their transport, a lone Ninth Fang Devil piloted by MechWarrior Fargo encountered the Guards' Union-class DropShip on a long range patrol. After dispatching the two light tank sentries he destroyed one of the landing struts, causing the Dropship to crash before it could take off to safety. When the Guards company returned they immediately surrendered to the Trinary of OmniMechs waiting for them. For this Fargo was one of the few MechWarriors to be credited with a solo DropShip kill.[3]

The Ninth was not on the Steel Viper roster in 3067. Its final fate is not known, but it is likely that it was destroyed when the Vipers were ejected from the Inner Sphere. Alternatively it is possibly that it was destroyed during the fighting against Clan Snow Raven in 3065, when the Vipers took heavy losses. [4]
