Description
First seen in the Dark Age era, the Avalanche is one of three medium OmniMechs in use by Clan Nova Cat during that period. The Avalanche shares leg assemblies with the Wendigo, echoing OmniMech designs as far back as the Golden Century, and is often seen sporting weapon pods taken from the Shadow Cat. While all Avalanches spotted so far have sported Jump Jets, it is currently unknown if these are built into the chassis
As the warriors of Clan Nova Cat have traditionally favored laser based weapon systems, it is believed the Avalanche is meant to address the disparity in capabilities that result because of this focus.
Armament
The Avalanche gains its name from the two LRM 10s in its torso, which obscure it in a white, snow-like cloud of smoke when firing. The LRMs are backed up with a quartet of ER Medium Lasers mounted in the arms.
Alternate Configurations
While the Avalanche is an OmniMech, its other configurations remain unknown at this time.
