The [[Ronin War]] came to Bruben on 2 May [[3034]], when elements of the planetary garrison attempted to seize Bruben's [[HPG station]] from [[ComStar]]. [[Demi-Precentor]] [[Corvin Mantyrius]] had used his relationship with ''[[Valdherre of Bruben|Valdherre]]'' [[Erik Davidson]] to have elements of [[Cameron's Legion]] and the planetary militia assigned to the compound's defense and the attackers, eight heavy [[Hovercraft|hovercraft]] loaded with infantry, were thwarted.<ref name=BWp107>''Historical: Brush Wars'', pp. 107–108: "The Drakøn's Bite - Bruben"</ref>

Unfortunately for Bruben, while the former garrison commander ''[[Chu-sa]]'' [[Miato Kekkonen]] had been sympathetic towards its independence, his death in a traffic accident the month before put the planet's garrison under the control of ''[[Tai-i]]'' [[Marcus Hirimatsu]]. ''Tai-i'' Hirimatsu arranged for both the attack on the ComStar compound and an attempt on ''Valdherre'' Davidson's life simultaneously and, while the ''Valdherre'' was saved due to the intervention of Cameron's Legion, 493 civilians died during the urban fighting before Hirimatsu's men were driven off. More than one hundred of these casualties were children, killed when the Priorson School was caught in the fighting between both sides. Afterwards, 2 May was named as Bruben's Freedom Day in order to remember and celebrate those lost in Bruben's fight for freedom from [[Ronin (Faction)|Ronin]] control.<ref name=BWp107/>

In June [[3050]] Bruben was invaded by Clan Wolf as part of [[Operation REVIVAL]]. The battle was notable as being the first appearance in battle of Clan Wolf's [[Epsilon Galaxy (Clan Wolf)|Epsilon Galaxy]], a second-line formation composed of aging [[trueborns]] along with [[freeborn]] warriors.  That such units were called upon perform front-line combat was a testament not only to the Clan's trust in their skills but also a sign of their determination that the [[Invasion corridor - Clan Wolf|Third Wave]] would signal a change in how Clan Wolf executed the rest of their campaign.
