The Known Coreward Deep Periphery as of 2821

Description

The Caliban Nebula, also called the Veil of the Protector and Kerensky's Cloak by the Clans,[1] is a large, elongated body of interstellar dust and gas lying coreward of the Inner Sphere in the Deep Periphery. At roughly 1,000 light years from Terra, the Caliban Nebula blocks all view of the Kerensky Cluster and Pentagon Worlds from the Inner Sphere. However, the Voice of the Protector and other light-speed signals are still capable of penetrating the nebula, and the displacement between Clan Homeworlds and the Inner Sphere itself means the Clans could have remained unnoticed for quite some time. The Veil shrouds Clanspace from other Deep Periphery denizens and Spheroids intent on search the Coreward Periphery for the Exodus Fleet.[2]

No information on its approximate size or volume has been recorded to date, but it seems to be a celestial body of at least 200 light years length, measured anti-spinward to spinward.
