Candice Silbar was an armor officer who rose to command of the Twenty-third Arcturan Guards.

History[edit]

FedCom Civil War[edit]

As of 3062, Silbar was in command of the 23rd Arcturan Armor Brigade.[1]

During the final waves of the FedCom Civil War, Silbar's unit suffered tremendous casualties. First on Tikonov and Thorin, and finally in the climactic fighting on New Avalon, the 23rd were worn down past the point of combat effectiveness.[2] Silbar's brigade was forced to disband one of its three armor regiments, but despite this, could only field 10% of their authorized strength. The rest of the RCT was in similar position when Silbar was promoted to overall command of the 23rd Arcturan by October 3067.[3]

Jihad[edit]

Silbar commanded the Guards through the Jihad, where they served as one of the LCAF's top rapid-response units. They were selected for participation in Operation SCOUR, where they participated in the campaign in Asia and the capture of Tokyo. They came through the fighting battered, but still intact, having been reinforced by survivors of the 20th Arcturan Guards.[4] Those survivors eventually returned to rebuild their own unit as the 23rd was reorganized into an LCT. Silbar's background as an armor commander likely contributed to the performance of the unit's conventional assets during fighting with the Duchy of Tamarind-Abbey in the 3080s.[5]
