Corinne Marik (Born 3024[1]) 31st Century House Marik noblewoman, MechWarrior, military commander, & later politian.

Character Brief

Daughter of Paul Marik and niece of Captain-General Thomas Marik. Corinne was early life a non-political member of the Marik family, wishing not take part of her family's political legacy. She was noted to have opposite personality of her father, she continuing refuse take position second line to the throne due to her father's past.[2] She was noted for her easy going and relaxed attitude which helped her win the support of the men under her command. She has never exercised power beyond her earned rank, or otherwise abused her family connections.

Character History

Military Career

She attented and graduated from the Allison MechWarrior Institute in 3045[3] Corinne rose to rank of Captain, in 2nd Free Worlds Legionnaires, commanding a company of BattleMechs while unit was station on Sadurni in 3050. Over years in the command, she achieved the rank of Force Commander, become Executive Officer of Legionnaries by 3062.

She in later 3060s she was promoted to rank of Colonel. As having getting preganent and gave birth to her daughter Giselle. She also become a "pro-Thomas" loyalist, 2nd line to the throne after Thomas's daughter Isis Marik. As of 3067, she has shaky relationship with her father, having been seen argued with in during a Halloween Masque on Atreus.[4]

Coup, Captain-Generallcy, and the Jihad

In August 3069, all things changed. Corinne father's Paul Marik, had come out of the shadows, using his position as League's Minister of Intelligence, came to Thomas Marik had his now allied Blake troops take him and his family. He falling into camp of his true brother, only referring to him as Master. Corrine learning what was happening intercepted and killed guards attempting to take "fake" Thomas Marik and family to Mars.[5] She kills the security cameras in the place and arranges transport for Thomas and his family off world. Corinne arrives and uses needler pistol kills against Blakist-Marik guards, however in brief fight, Thomas's two sons are killed and his wife Sherryl is injured. Thomas stricken at death of his sons, Corinne, urges him to escape with daughter Jessica. She resures him that she will get Sheryl medical aide and protect her from harm. Corinne explains to Thomas how she came to find out of his plight. She had heard father wanting her become the Captain-General in his place. However, despite her fate was unvoidable, she tells him she will not be aide her father's "friends". Thomas with heavy heart goes to the shuttle with his daughter, to ship Corrine had arranged.[6]

After assuming the throne on Atreus, she begun institute tariffs changes. Having them lowered for worlds that show loyality to her governments authority. While False Thomas Marik's version parliament begun raising tariffs to pay for fighting multiple conflicts of the Jihad. However, these efforts resulted in various organization not paying them at all since they were conflicting.[7]
