History
Formed after the 1st Succession War from former CCAF soldiers with roots in the SLDF. The CCAF hunted the new merc unit, which found a safe haven in the FWL. The brigade could hold its strength through the 2 decades long heavy fighting, with the addition of family members and soldiers who left FWLM service.
The brigade work after this contract first for the LCAF, then the FedCom and lately the FedSuns. In 3050 the entire brigade was assigned to the Federated Commonwealth's Qanatir Command along the Lyran/Free Worlds League border.[1]
The 2nd Regiment had been stationed on Tall Trees in 3067, but shipped to Outreach after the Blakist assault on Wolf's Dragoons in October; the 2nd regiment arrived during November. The 2nd Regiment then participated in the Allied Mercenary Command's disastrous assault on Mars in 3067 as part of Task Force Vengeance and was reported to have been destroyed along with the other elements of the Task Force on the 8th of December.[2]
The 3rd Regiment participated in an AMC attack on Talitha on 8 December 3069, together with Burton's Brigade.[3]
In 3081 it was reported that the Dismal Disinherited had been destroyed during the Jihad.[4]
Officers
In 3050 the unit was commanded by General Salvador Lyly.[1] General Terrence Krieger is a seasoned officer and inspiring leader who commands the entire brigade.
Support
The Regiments support structure has the ability to meet all the Brigades technical demands. The technical staff are highly skilled in the repair of the worst damage imaginable. The common soldiers can act as astechs to free up the techs for the important repairs. The unit has access to DropShips and JumpShips.
One of the JumpShips operated by the Dismal Disinherited, the Invader-class Star Burner, was purchased from the Federated Suns in the aftermath of the Fourth Succession War. The Star Burner was a ship on which a number of the original members of the Dismal Disinherited had served before they left Capellan service to form the mercenary brigade.[5]
