In [[3051]] Ervin Rebelke was fighting for [[Lion City Stables]] and ranked twelfth in the [[Top 20 Unlimited Class List|Solaris Top Twenty]]. Tall and blond, his face wearing a perpetual wide-eyed expression as if was baffled by all the attention, the gangling and likable Ervin Rebelke was considered to be a natural [[MechWarrior (pilot)|MechWarrior]], on track to become a Top 5 contender unless he made a huge mistake or burned out.<ref name="SOLARISGMBp27">''Solaris VII: The Game World – Gamemaster's Book'', p. 27, "The Top 20"</ref>

By [[3059]] Ervin Rebelke had indeed become a seasoned contender with grizzled exterior, a large gash running from his upper-brow to his left ear. In the wake of that year's Grand Tournament, Rebelke challenged then-Champion [[Theodore Gross]] to a title defense in the [[Steiner Stadium]]. On an interview on 21 September 3059 with [[Julian Nero]], Rebelke boasted he'd own the past his prime Gross in the Coliseum, though the "Man in the Know" openly doubted this and wished the Rebelke luck.<ref name=IoV-P>''Illusions of Victory'' "Prelude"</ref>

For most of his career Rebelke piloted a customized ''Atlas'' (spike-laden<ref name=GI>''Galactic Insinuator Interviews God! - Dieron''</ref>) in a simple and straightforward manner, wading straight into an enemy firestorm, counting on his massive 'Mech's ability to weather such punishment to score serious hits on his opponent. While often simplistic, Rebelke was not foolhardy or relentless, often holding onto a strongpoint silently daring his enemies to come after him.<ref name="SOLARISGMBp27"/>
