==History==
Born on the [[Aurigan Coalition]] world of [[Katinka]], Faida Lamb was the second child of a runaway [[Magistracy of Canopus]] noble and a retired MechWarrior, her father running a successful video game arcade and general store catering to the hopeful [[LosTech]] prospectors who visited Katinka. Farida's life was turned upside down on 1 January [[3005]] when agents of the [[Magistracy Intelligence Ministry]] arrived to forcibly return her mother to the Magistracy, Melody Lamb having been a highly ranked member of the Magistracy government prior to her "reckless abandonment" of her realm and privy to numerous state secrets the Canopus government refused to let leak out. <ref name=HA:TACp48/>

With Farida and her father both being Aurigan Coalition citizens and Damon "Paddleball" Lamb's establishment being relatively prosperous, the MIM opted to let them live out their lives on Katinka and did not bring the pair with them. Foreseeing the life his daughter was likely to be forced into, her father incorporated the [[BattleMech]] simulators of his arcade into Farida's childhood play and studies, surreptitiously training her to become a capable and skilled MechWarrior. Farida loved her father, though tensions between the pair persisted over the disappearance of her mother, with whom she identified strongly.<ref name=HA:TACp48/>

[[Santiago Espinosa]]'s coup in [[3022]] changed everything, with her father offering Farida his old BattleMech and allowing her to start a new life as a [[Mercenary]]. She would discover to her surprise she was intimately familiar with her new career, realizing that her father had effectively been training her from childhood rather than merely playing games. Adopting the call sign of Apex, Farida would distinguish herself with numerous [[mercenary unit]]s in the [[Rimward]] [[Periphery]], ultimately joining the former [[Markham's Marauders]] employed by [[Arano Restoration]] leader [[Kamea Arano]]. Earning a berth aboard the ''[[Argo (Individual Argo-class DropShip)|Argo]]'', Lamb would form the backbone of an assault [[lance]] that carried the Restoration Army through the fall of the [[Aurigan Directorate]].<ref name=HA:TACp48/>

Choosing to retire following the Battle of Coromodir, Farida Lamb found her retirement short-lived, being recruited into the [[Karen Andris]]-led [[Operation RESTORED HOPE]] by Lord [[Alexander Madeira]] himself. Farida would fight during on RESTORED HOPE on [[Mantharaka]], [[Highwater]], [[Tarragona]] and the final drop on [[Gaucin]], where she smashed a fist into the leader of [[Ibex Rampant]]'s cockpit, marking a decisive end of the operation. Lamb would continue in service with the [[Aurigan Coalition Military]], being transferred after RESTORE HOPE into the secretive and elite [[Rampart Company]].<ref name=HA:TACp48/>

"Apex" would take part in numerous Rampart Company's actions. In September [[3026]] Farida joined a mission to destroy pirates operating on [[Weldry]], her assault 'Mech 
ensuring an easy victory but complicating matters when elements of the [[Capellan Confederation]]'s [[Kamakura's Hussars]] also arrived intending to deal with those same pirates. ==BattleMechs==
Trained by her father to pilot 'Mechs of a variety of weight classes, during Operation RESTORED HOPE Farida Lamb was assigned a [[BattleMaster|BLR-1G ''BattleMaster'']] drawn from the armory of the [[Arano Royal Guards]] by [[Captain]] Candris. Bestowing it with the name Gigantes, Lamb would use it to good effect, most notably downing the Ibex Rampant leader's stolen ''[[Awesome]]'' with a pilot killing physical attack. Apex would retain Gigantes during her service with Rampart Company.
