The Fourth Succession War occured in the fictional Battletech universe. Started as a wedding gift by Hanse Davion to his bride Melissa Steiner, it ended with the Federated Suns taking control of a third of the Capellan Confederation's worlds. It was quick and brutal, and set the stage for the war of 3039 between the newly-formed Federated Commonwealth and the Draconis Combine.
