Appointment as Legate[edit]
Appointed as Vega's Legate, and CO of the Vega Republic Standing Guard in 3129, Nguyen spend the early part of his tenure seeking to whip the formerly complacent Planetary Militia into shape.[6]
Still Legate on Gray Monday at the start of the Blackout, 7 August 3132, Nguyen was on a inspection tour of New Egypt days afterwards when an explosives-laden fighter from the local garrison intentionally crashed into the government precinct in Neucason. The resulting explosion destroyed the HPG station, as well as most of the planetary bureaucracy, including the Governor Olivia Vron.[7]
