Description
This 'Mech, created by Clan Jade Falcon remained a Jade Falcon exclusive, until blueprints were stolen. Since that day, some Jade Hawks have been sighted, notably with mercenaries at their helms. The 'mech's design is indicative of the Jade Falcons' attempt to create several new totem battlemechs to revitalize their clan. In their new 'mech design line, the Jade Hawk was to be the heavy class. Like the light Eyrie, medium Gyrfalcon, and Assault Shrike; the Jade Hawk displays birdlike talons on its arms and legs, wings that serve both an aesthetic purpose and aid in heat dissipation, and advanced armour and systems. The theft of the design blueprints for this battlmech seem to have dissuaded Clan Jade Falcon from fielding it, as it has yet to be seen among Jade Falcon forces. From INN 3135: The altered plans for the battlemech may explain the seemingly inefficient use of tonnage in the design, though the ’Mech seems to carry the maximum amount of armor that the chassis can tolerate. Our operatives are continuing to search for the original Clan Jade Falcon design.
Armament
Lightly armed for a heavy battlemech (though as mentioned above, heavily armoured in comparison), the Jade Hawk is equipped only with 4 ER Small Lasers and a set of 4 SRM 6's, as well as the claws on its extremeties, themselves impressive close combat weapons for death-from-above attacks and grappling with other 'mechs in close combat conditions.
Variants
There are two known variants of the Jade Hawk, though no design specifications are forthcoming at this time.
