Colonel Jamey Vitale was the commander of the First Canopian Light Horse from at least 3145 to 3151.[1][2]

History[edit]

Vitale, with the First Canopian Light Horse, was based on Claybrooke as of 3145.[1]

In 3151 Vitale was ordered by Erde Centrella to leave Claybrooke to stabilize the situation on Joppa, a historically Canopian world which was suffering from Capellan Confederation mismanagement and oppression, following its transfer to Capellan control in 3130.[3]

Landing on Joppa on 2 June 3151, Vitale initially advised the local Capellan Home Guard Commander his unit had been sent to relieve him of the problems caused by the protests against Capellan rule, an offer which was gratefully accepted. After taking control however, over protests by the Home Guard and Capellan Diem, Colonel Vitale released all the protestors who had been imprisoned to date.

The next day, during the celebrations organized by the grateful local population, Vitale then contacted the Home Guard and demanded they disarm. While this was initially treated as a joke by the Home Guard officers, it was followed by Canopian Battle Armor placing all the Capellan troops under house arrest, until the dispute regarding the governance of the world could be resolved between the Magestrix and the Chancellor of the Capellan Confederation.[4]
