==History==
===Langendorf Lancers===
Jiri Rousset was a [[MechWarrior (pilot)|MechWarrior]] with the mercenary unit [[Langendorf Lancers]].  There he met Kristen Marik, who joined the Lancers using the alias "Kristen Markus".  In 3031, Kristen gave birth to their first child, [[Ana Rousset-Marik|Ana]].<ref name=FM:Mp71/>

===Kristen's Krushers===

Following the death of Kristen's father, [[Janos Marik]], Kristen used her inheritance to form her own mercenary unit, [[Kristen's Krushers]].  Jiri and a number of warriors from the Lancers joined the Krushers.  Sometime after the formation of the Lancers, Jiri and Kristen were married.  They had two more children, [[Janos Rousset-Marik|Janos]] and [[Alys Rousset-Marik|Alys]].<ref name=FM:Mp71/>

By 3059, Jiri held the rank of [[major]] and served as the executive officer of the Krushers.<ref name=FM:Mp71/>

===FedCom Civil War===

In [[3062]], Jiri and the Krushers were under contract with the [[Lyran Alliance]], stationed on the world of [[Coventry]].  In December, conflict erupted between the [[Coventry CPM]] and the [[Alliance Jaegers]] with the death of [[Arthur Steiner-Davion]].  The commander of the Jaegers, Jason Walker, ordered the Krushers to attack full-on into Port Lawrence's Coventry Militia Academy, taking heavy damage.  Colonel Kristen Marik protested the brutality of the Alliance's assault, which included an artillery barrage.  After the fighting ended, Colonel Marik requested time for the Krushers to rest and refit.  Walker took this as an opportunity to attack the Krushers, citing them for "evidence of complicity with the traitors" during the battle against the Coventry CPM.<ref name=FCCWp38>''FedCom Civil War'', p. 38: "Coventry"</ref>

Jiri's daughter, Major Ana Marik, commander of the Third Battalion, died holding off Jaeger forces long enough for her men to escape.  Kristen led her people to their DropShips and left the planet, communicating that the Jaeger attack voided their contract with the Lyran Alliance.<ref name=FCCWp38/>

In March 3063, Kristen led the Krushers in a raid against [[Gallery]] for supplies.  However, the world's ruler, [[Nondi Steiner]], was not pleased with this. She labeled the mercenary unit hostile and ordered her forces to take measures against them when they could.<ref name=FCCWp3840>''FedCom Civil War'', pp. 38–40: "The Eagle's Flight"</ref> During the Krushers' retreat through Lyran space, Jiri's son Janos was killed.<ref name=FMRp84/>

Kristen led her people to [[Arcadia (LC)|Arcadia]], where her unit faced an impressive aerospace force, led by the ''[[Mjolnir]]''-class battlecruiser, LAS ''Yggdrasil''.  The enemy aerospace power forced her to scatter landing sites on Arcadia, where the split-up mercenary unit faced the [[2nd Donegal Guards|Second Donegal Guards]]. Kristen led her force in a desperate fight for survival, being reduced to only two operational companies by April.<ref name=FCCWp3840/>

However, the balance of power changed as the [[6th Marik Militia|Sixth Marik Militia]] arrived on planet under escort by a ''[[Thera]]''-class supercarrier battlegroup clearing the skies of hostiles. In the last hours of fighting with the Second Donegal, Kristen was wounded, and died on a medevac ship.<ref name=FCCWp3840/>

===Later Life===
Jiri's only surviving daughter, Alys, inherited command of the Krushers as well as the title of [[Duchess of Augustine]].  Due to her lack of experience, Alys left the day-to-day running of the Krushers to Jiri – now holding the rank of colonel – while she attended to her duties as Duchess.  Alys also began agitating politically against her "uncle", [[Thomas Marik (False)|Thomas Marik]].  By 3067, the Krushers were stationed on [[Augustine]] and had rebuilt to battalion strength with the goal of restoring the unit to a regiment.<ref name=FMRp84/>
