LV Corps was one of the seventy-two corps that made up the Star League Defense Force, assigned as part of the Fifth Army.[1]
History
Following the Coup by Stefan Amaris that saw the Terran Hegemony become the Amaris Empire, Hechnar was a part of the Empire until the arrival of forces from the SLDF in late 2772, as part of Operation CHIEFTAIN. The entire of LV Corps was deployed to liberate Hechnar, supported by both the Sixth and Sixteenth Fleets. By March 2773, the SLDF had gained control of enough of Hechnar that the Eridani Light Horse could begin launching raids against the Amaris forces on Carver V. Amaris ordered multiple attempts to recapture Hechnar during 2773 and 2774, but not only were the Amaris Empire Armed Forces unable to make much headway against the substantial SLDF naval presence in the system, but the SLDF was able to use Hechnar as a staging post for raids deep into the Amaris Empire.[2]
