Overview
Before 3025
Before the margin of the two separate military (LCAF + AFFS ) into one unified organization (AFFC) both states had their own form to organize their militia. The LCAF used the Theater/District System and the AFFS were organized after the March/Polymorphous Defense Zone system. The Davion influence at the transformation was massive. Before the creation of the Federated Commonwealth the LCAF organized their territory in the following structure:
Draconis Combine border[1]
Free Worlds League border[1]
Periphery border (The theaters at that border are larger and cover more territory)[1]
Note: A typical Theater has the dimension of 30 parsecs x 18 parsecs. At least 5 mech commands at regimentlevel are within the borders of such a Theater. [1]
3040
The High Command decided to use the established system of House Davion for the transformation of the Lyran militia system. The old Theaters were divided into 3 equal measured Commands (Polymorphous Defense Zone) and the higher organization level was called Operations Area (equivalent to a Combat Theater in Davion space). [2]
The Lyran territory was organized into 5 Marches:[2]:
- Sarna March[2] - captured Liao territory + 4 Marik worlds planets
- Tamar March - former Bone, Trellshire, and Tamar Theatersref [2]:
- Skye March - the Federation of Skye + captured FWL planets [2]:
- Tamarind March - former Ford and Cavanaugh Theaters [2]:
- Periphery March - former Timbuktu and Main Street Theaters [2]:
- Donegal March - the core of the Lyran Commonwealth [2]:
the Marches include the following Operations Area and Commands[3]
- Sarna March [3]
- Tamar March [3]
- Blackjack Operations Area (former Bone + Trellshire Theater) [3]
- Benfled Operations Area (former Tamar Theater) [3]
- Skye March [3]
- Tamarind March [3]
- Soilihull Operations Area (former Ford Theater) [3]
- Bolan Operations Area (former Cavanaugh Theater) [3]
- Periphery March [3]
- Venaria Operations Area (former Timbuktu Theater) [3]
- Tsarahavana Operations Area (former Main Street Theater) [3]
- Donegal March [3]
- Alarion Operations Area (former Alarion Military District) [3]
- Coventry Operations Area (former Coventry Military District) [3]
- Pherkad Operations Area (former Tharkad Military District) [3]
Note: The former Hesperus Military District was divided between the Ford and Cavanaugh Theaters.
