Description

The Marksman M1 Tank was first fielded in combat 3083 by the Republic of the Sphere against the Capellan Confederation during the Capellan Crusades.[1] The tank is based loosely on the ancient SLDF Marksman Artillery Vehicle. Unlike its earlier predecessor, this vehicle was created as a main battle tank for Republic of the Sphere. Using the name of tank helped to remind the people of The Republic of their ties to the ancient Terran Hegemony.

The vehicle features two pairs of tracks in front and back of the vehicle.

Armament

All of the vehicle's weaponry is mounted on the tank's turret. The tank's long range armament consists of its Lord's Thunder Gauss Rifle with two tons of ammunition and two Shigunga Medium Range Missile ten packs with a ton of ammunition. For short-range weaponry the vehicle has two, four-tube Guided Technologies 2nd Generation Short Range Missile Launchers with one ton ammo and two, six-tube Ayukawa "Slapper" SRMs with ton ammo. For use against infantry it has four Bulldog miniguns with half ton of ammunition.

Notes

Originally the vehicle was conceived for WizKids's Collectiable Miniature game, MechWarrior: Dark Age. The vehicle was originally named M1 Marksman, however in Catayst Game Lab's publications for the Dark Age era. Vehicle was lightly renamed for reasoning of new naming conventions.[2][3]
