MechWarrior Michael Jones was a former Capellan Confederation MechWarrior, who defected with the Second St. Ives Lancers and Candace Liao, when the St. Ives Compact formed.[1][2][3][4]
History
Jones' father was assassinated during a political squabble in the Capellan Confederation prior to 3029, for which Jones extracted suitable revenge.[1] Following this affair, Jones was scheduled to be court-martialed, but managed to escape this potentially fatal outcome when his unit the Second St. Ives Lancers defected with Candace Liao to the newly formed St. Ives Compact.[2][3][4]
BattleMech
Jones inherited his BattleMech, a Vindicator known as St. Ives Blue, from his father. This 'Mech could be recognized by the large silver trumpet painted on its chest, and was field modified by Jones to carry an an upgraded LRM system and a large laser to replace the PPC.
The St. Ives Military Command would ultimately use Jones' altered weapons array as the basis for the VND-1SIC variant.[1][2][3][4]
Notes
Jones was incorrectly reported in Technical Readout: 3025, to have joined the non-existent 14th St. Ives Armored Cavalry, rather than the Second St. Ives Lancers.[1]
