History[edit]

Fourth Succession War[edit]

In November 3028 the LCAF ordered the two mercenary commands of Mobile Fire and Bad Dream to challenge the 22nd Rasalhague Regulars on Gunzburg as part of Operation GÖTTERDÄMMERUNG.[1] The defending Twenty-second went underground and avoided contact with the Steiner employed mercenaries. After several weeks the mercenaries set a trap. The CO of Mobile Fire sent a message to the Bad Dream command, stating that most of his forces were sick from a local illness. The Regulars intercepted the message and gathered their forces to strike at the weakened invaders. When the Rasalhague Regulars advanced the abandoned camp, the 'Mechs of Mobile Fire emerged from the nearby swamps. When the Bad Dream advanced from the rear, the CO of the surrounded DCMS unit ordered his troops to surrender. However, the CO of the Rasalhague Regulars committed suicide by swallowing a cyanide capsule.[2]

FedCom Civil War[edit]

As a long established Lyran mercenary unit, Mobile Fire put their support behind Archon Katherine Steiner-Davion and paid a high price for their loyalty at the hands of pro-Victor forces (Archer's Avengers on Odessa). The unit received a pardon and later served as the garrison force of several planets on the Clan border.[3]

Jihad[edit]

The unit broke off negotiations to extend their contract with the LCAF and left their garrison post on the Lyran world of New Earth to work for the Word of Blake (who attacked New Earth mere days later). Mobile Fire was subsequently branded Rogue by the MRBC. The unit attacked Imbros III on behalf of the Word of Blake in March 3069.[4]
