The unit entered into action when in 3144 a Binary from Clan Wolf attacked Alcor. Major Benito Iqbal divided his forces into three tasks groups of a Company strength each. This forced the Wolf Binary to break into two Stars and went hunting. Benito's tactic proved incorrect though. His company using him and his Night Stalker as bait were able to destroy the star from Star Commander Koshi, but the other star was an assault one, and was able not only to annihilate the other two tasks groups, but could have destroyed also the rest of the unit. Nine Fingers survivors had to stay on the move till relief battalion from the First Galatean Defense Force arrived to relieve them.
