== Description ==
The '''Pile Driver''' is a piece of construction equipment that is rarely seen on the battlefield. Though it has been used by the arena fighters on [[Solaris]],<ref name="MP:SVIIp56">''Mappack: Solaris VII'', p. 56, "Pile Driver"</ref> the interference with other equipment and lack of range mean it's not popular with the regular armies of the [[Inner Sphere]]. Instead, the Pile Driver is usually found on [[IndustrialMech]]s that are for construction.<ref name="TMp244"/>

Essentially a giant hammer, the Pile Driver uses a massive weight to drive poles, pipes, and conduits into the ground. In certain mining operations, Pile Drivers are used to drive massive metal spikes through hardened rock. Though any combat unit that gets between the ground and the Pile Driver is in for a rough time, the Pile Driver is massive and clumsy. For these reasons it is rare to see a Pile Driver in combat.<ref name="TMp244"/>
