The Prime Marshal of the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns was the officer who commanded the AFFS when the First Prince was unable or unwilling to do so. This rank was replaced by that of Prince's Champion, but when the transition was made is unclear. Peter Davion was the last person to hold this rank and did so during the reign of Prince Michael Davion.[1]
