History[edit]

The Purity of Purpose was a Magellan-class JumpShip originally operated by ComStar. Around 3066, Purity of Purpose was carrying a small cache of Experimental Technology along with a ComStar scientific expedition on its way to the Explorer Corps' Columbus Station when it was captured by a pirate band led by Hakim al-Shahab operating out of the Periphery world of Isfahan. The Magellan-class JumpShip and prototype weaponry proved a boon to al-Shahab, who refitted the bulk of the weapons onto his Daimyo BattleMech and used the JumpShip to extend his band's reach. The ComStar markings and IFF also misled more than a few travelers into lowering their guard and allowing the pirates to strike without warning.[1]
