History

The Purity of Purpose was a Magellan-class JumpShip originally operated by ComStar. Around 3066, Purity of Purpose was carrying a small cache of Experimental Technology along with a ComStar scientific expedition on it's way to the Explorer Corps' Columbus Station when it was captured by a pirate band led by Hakim al-Shahab operating out of the Periphery world of Isfahan. The Magellan-class JumpShip and prototype weaponry would prove a boon to al-Shahab and his pirate band, refitting the bulk of the the weapons onto his Daimyo BattleMech, the ComStar JumpShip would allow him to extend his band's reach. Additionally the ComStar markings and IFF would mislead more than a few travellers into lowering their guard and allowing the pirates to strike without warning.[1]
