Description
The Shen Yi Fire-Support BattleMech designed by the Capellan Confederation shortly after the Jihad. The 'Mech was produced at time when the CCAF was rebuilding, saw Shen Yi. The design was seen as a break through for using Stealth Armored units for general combat. It was first produced by Hellespont BattleMech Works of Sian in early 3080s.[1]
In later years, it CCAF began phasing out a few older missile support elements in the CCAF within 15 years of it's introduction. The Shen Yi has mostly been assigned to the more elite forces of the Confederation, such as the Warrior Houses.[2]
Armaments and Capacities
The Shen Yi is armed with pair of 20-Tubed Medium Missile Launchers three tons of ammunition found in center and left side torsos. The 'Mech back-up weapon is a Firmir UltraLase Extended Range Large Laser, mounted right arm actuator with pair Firmir High-Frequency Medium Pulse Lasers.
The 'Mech is protected by 13 tons of Stealth Armor, which is linked to its Guardian ECM Suite found in the left arm actuator. Two manage the heat load, the 'mech been given 14 Double Heat Sinks.[3]
Variants
- LRM Variant - Introduced by 3130s, Shen Yi retains the its single Firmir MaxiLase Large Laser and pair of 2 x LRM-20 Launchers.[4]
