Description
The Shen Yi fire-support BattleMech was designed by the Capellan Confederation shortly after the Jihad. The 'Mech was produced at a time when the Capellan Confederation Armed Forces was rebuilding, saw Shen Yi. The design was seen as a breakthrough for using Stealth Armored units for general combat. It was first produced by Hellespont BattleMech Works of Sian in the early 3080s.[1]
In later years, the CCAF began phasing out a few older missile support elements in the CCAF within 15 years of its introduction. The Shen Yi has mostly been assigned to the more elite forces of the Confederation, such as the Warrior Houses.[2]

Notes
The Shen Yi was originally produced by WizKids as part of their Liao Incursion game release. Writers for WizKids gave Battletech Stats for the 'Mech, but it did not get a record sheet until the release of Technical Readout 3085 and its Record Sheet book. The Shen Yi's LRM variant (which appeared in WizKids' dossiers first) has yet to receive canon record sheet as of this writing.
