Attackers frequently presumed that due to the prohibition on serving in a national military imposed on all Siva Lwa, Siendou would be undefended and easy pickings. What those unfamiliar with Siendou and the Siva Lwa failed to realize is that there was no injunction on Siva Lwa practicing warfare as a trade. As such, Siendou was home to a locally-raised [[mercenary unit]] indigenous to the world named [[Ogoun's Machete]]; this unit proved their effectiveness to more than one hostile attacker.<ref name="TRO:3145Mp34"/> In [[3140]] the pirate band known as the [[Hellion Harpies]] raided Siendou, expecting to find easily-obtained plunder.
