The frigid world of Sigurd is the moon of a gas gigant orbiting a brilliant but distant F4-class sun in the coreward Periphery.
Geography
Sigurd is the cold moon of a glowing gas giant, that orbits a far, bright F4 sun.[1]
History
Sigurd was originally part of the Rim Worlds Republic until the nations downfall that accompanied the end of the Star League. Unlike many of the former Republic systems the world was not absorbed by the Lyran Commonwealth but instead founded the Oberon Confederation with the neighboring worlds of Oberon VI and Crellacor. Together this little alliance hold on to the Republic cause for at least two decades, but finally succumbed to the numerous pirate attacks.[2] From this time on Sigurd fought alone against falling into oblivion until 3012 when the moon joined Hendrik Grimm III's mockery of the former Oberon Confederation, with the goverment forcibly breaking down any opposition amongst its own population in the process.[1] When the Clans arrived in the Periphery in 3049 Sigurd was, along with the rest of the bandit kingdom, quickly swallowed by Clan Wolf only to be conquered by the Hell's Horses during the Jihad.[3]
