Overview
Sitwell Corporation was formed in or shortly after 2760 (and no later than 2764; see Notes below) by Richard Sitwell. Angry when he was laid off by Bluth Corporation in 2760, Sitwell formed Sitwell Corporation existed solely to compete against Bluth, hiring other laid-off personnel from Bluth and winning over others. Richard Sitwell put every bit of money he had into producing a better LoaderMech than Bluth's Buster design, which was the most commonly used LoaderMech at the time. The introduction of the Powerman in 2764 was a revelation to the cargo companies and spaceports. Lighter, faster, and more maneuverable than the Buster, the Powerman quickly became the preferred design.
Bluth Corporation took Sitwell and his company to court, but after decades of deliberation (lasting until after the close of the First Succession War), Sitwell Corporation emerged victorious. Bluth Corporation was forced into bankruptcy over misconduct that was revealed over the course of the lawsuit.[1]

- The original first entry for the Powerman and its backstory that introduced Sitwell Corporation said that Richard Sitwell was laid off from Bluth Corporation in 2795, but this is incompatible with the Powerman being introduced in 2764 (as established by its MUL entry) and its appearance among Aleksandr Kerensky's Exodus and during Operation Klondike (as established by Historical: Operation Klondike. TRO: Vehicle Annex Revised later corrected the date to 2760. No actual founding date for Sitwell Corporation is mentioned in any source, but available data establishes it was formed in or shortly after 2760 and no later than 2764.
