Skye Freight and Goods was a Skye shipping company operating in the mid-twenty-third century.

History[edit]

In 2244, several Skye Freight and Goods JumpShips stopped at Alexandria and were subsequently hijacked by the Theban Legion, led by Hector Rowe. They were forced to transport their 500-strong paramilitary force to Lucianca, approximately thirty-two lightyears coreward, where the Legion infiltrated and captured the 151st Altairian Fusiliers. After they slaughtered more than half of the the small reserve Terran Alliance garrison, a daring escape by one of the JumpShip captains brought their activities to light.[1][2]

Realizing the Theban Legion would be hunted down and executed for their actions, Hector Rowe gave the Skye merchantmen an ultimatum: join the Legion and make their fortunes beyond the stars, or die with the rest of the Fusiliers. They chose the former option, and after stripping the garrison bare of its supplies and weapons, they headed out toward the Periphery, behaving like pirates in every way, and eventually settled on Apollo in 2250, founding the Rim Worlds Republic.[2][3]
