Description
The Surtur is a fast medium BattleMech developed by the Hanseatic League as their first home built design. By 3120s, the League industrial/technology levels had achieved pre-Jihad level of technology. The governing Merchant Council decided it was time of the reason was pride in their nation's achievement, as indigenous design should be made. The Surtur is designed as a skirmisher, intended to get into close-quarters combat to render the enemies.
Weapons and Equipment
The Surtur is a close range attacker, so engineers fitted the design with an extra light fusion engine to push the 'Mech to 90 kilometers per hour, with added supercharger for additional temporary boost in speed to 120 km/h. The 'Mech's armor protection includes twelve tons of standard armor to help survive an onslaught of longer range fire so it can intercept its target.
Its firepower includes two standard side torso mounted 6-tubed Short-Range Missile Launchers with 1 ton of ammunition feeding from center torso. Energy weapons include seven Flamers, three found in the side torsos and single flamer in left arm. Its signature weapon mounted in the right arm is a sword.[1]
Design Quirks
No Design Quirks have been assigned to the SUR-T1 Surtur.
Notes
As of this writing, there is no image for the 'Mech other than a silhouette of a WVR-9K Wolverine, which shares same tonnage and also mounts a sword.
