T Cephei (also known as The Devil's Eye and Typhon) is a red giant star located in the Deep Periphery.[1][2]
System Description
T Cephei is a significant astronomical feature in the spinward Deep Periphery. Located about 690 light-years from Terra, the star is rimward of Tortuga Prime and approximately 100 light-years past Filtvelt. It is a massive Mira variable red giant, so large that its circumference is greater than that of Terra's inner system and would be comparable to that of a full moon from a distance of 1.5 light-years.[1][2]
The location of T Cephei was indicated by Interstellar Expeditions on charts in 3095.[1]
Notes
- T Cephei was first identified in 2012 with the publication of Interstellar Players 3: Interstellar Expeditions. Other than the astrogeographical location of the star, no information was provided on the system; in the absence of further information on the Deep Periphery no further detail is likely to be available on T Cephei.
- Due to the age and size of the star, the system is not likely to have any planets.
