His death matched his reputation, coming during a charge against an entrenched company of Ryuken in the Trolfjel Highlands during the Battle of Misery, which purchased with his blood great positional advantage for the Dragoons.[2]

McGarvey was known to pilot a Rifleman BattleMech.[1]
