Description

The Tufana Hovercraft was built initially for the Principality of Regulus's armed forces just after the Jihad. The vehicle was conceived to be used as spotter for fire support element of a unit. Initially due to its qualities, Regulans initially screen potential crewmembers to make sure team oriented personnel would be assigned to the Tufana, to make sure the vehicle's team doctrine was followed.

The vehicle uses its TAG and NARC missiles to aid its lance-mates in use of artillery and Semi-Guided LRMs. It is protected by 4.5 tons of Ferro-Fibrous armor, however it’s the vehicle's speed provides for most protection from enemy fire.

Sales of the Tufana would expanded to include former Free Worlds League states, Capellan Confederation, and Magistracy of Canopus.[2]

Armament

The Tufana main offensive weapon is its turreted mounted 7-tubed Multi-Missile Launcher. The launcher was given 4 tons of ammunition so to give its crews variable of ammunition types to choose from. Also found in the turret TAG designator and NARC Missile Launcher, which Narc have been given 2 tons of ammunition.[3]

Variants

  • INarc Variant - A requested variant, which highly popular with the Capellan Confederation. The vehicle's Narc launcher is swapped for a Improved NARC Missile launcher. Too make room for the INarc missiles, the vehicle's MML is downgraded to a three tube launcher. Pair of Medium Pulse Lasers is mounted in the turret to make up loss of the larger launcher. Lastly, the vehicle has pair of Extended Range Small Lasers mounted on the nose section. BV(2.0)=????[4]
