Hello all!  As you can tell I'm new here, but I'm far from new to the BattleTech Universe (FYI I just added ''BattleTech'' to my dictionary 'cause I hate red-squiggly-lines).  I would say that I've been a fan since about 1995 with the [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0138224/ BattleTech Cartoon Series], and shortly after that [http://www.sarna.net/wiki/MechWarrior_2:_31st_Century_Combat MechWarrior 2: 31st Century Combat] [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation (PS1)].  Later in 1999 I was in the market for a new ''joystick'', and I found the new [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_SideWinder#Force_Feedback_2 Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback 2], and inside as an added bonus was [http://www.sarna.net/wiki/MechWarrior_III MechWarrior 3] (to date, still my favorite ''MechWarrior'' game, more on why in a bit).  Sadly, as BattleTech fell out of ''vogue'' and my life was moving at a mind-blowing pace I soon forgot the joy of blowing things up in a bipedal tank.  It was probably in my second year in the US Marines that a good friend of mine re-introduced me to ''BattleTech''.  We had a small gaming group (if you call 12 people small anyway) to occupy our time on those ''off-payday'' weekends.  I was at a local "gaming" store, and I saw [http://www.sarna.net/wiki/LosTech:_The_MechWarrior_Equipment_Guide LosTech: The MechWarrior Equipment Guide], my friend (who I will now refer to as "Twitch"), went all-sorts of hysterical and informed me that I should buy it.  So I did (at this point it should be noted that I hadn't made the connection between ''BattleTech'' and ''MechWarrior'' yet), and we got talking about it on our way back to base, and the light bulb in my puny little pea-brain head lit a soft glow, and neurons started talking to each other.  From then-on it was mad 'Mech reverse-engineering, of-wich we used ''MechWarrior 3'' extensively to "field test" our creations before the next gaming session, and was extremely accurate in all things "'Mech-creation" related (that's were I really fell in love with MW3).  Fast-forward about nine years and here I am, currently anticipating a new ''BattleTech'' Campaign in a new gaming group, and using new rules (using [http://www.sarna.net/wiki/A_Time_of_War A Time of War], so to say-the-least, I'm ''back in baby''!).
