The database of the (apocryphal) 1989 video game MechWarrior, set around the year 3025, gives a population of 879 million for Valloire and describes the environment as "tropical" (out of only three broad impressions of planetary environments given in the game, these being "desert", "ice", or "tropical"). The description one-liner reads "Producer of the best teas in the Commonwealth."

Planetary History
First Succession War
Valloire was one of a number of worlds conquered by the Lyran Commonwealth during the First Succession War as part of Aric Hasseldorf's campaign to take the Bolan Thumb in 2790. After months of objective raids to determine the prime targets for invasion, Kommandant-General Hasseldorf selected Valloire as his first target. The world was captured in a three-month campaign which eschewed the use of WMDs, a behavior that was growing increasingly rare at the time.[42] Captain-General Thaddeus Marik attempted to launch a campaign in 2811 aimed at retaking Valloire, along with a number of other captured worlds including Binyang, Danxian and Radostov, but his campaign failed almost at the outset when his forces failed to defeat the crack Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces regiment known as The Stealths at Poulsbo, taking numerous losses in the process and ultimately causing the campaign to be called off.[10]
Dark Age
When Diego Widmer declared himself leader of the Buena Collective during the waning years of the Dark Age, the LCAF sent Kommandant Ludwig Steiner to reclaim the world at the head of his Lyran Irregulars battalion, plus elements of the Second Buena Guards and Carlisle Buena Province Militia. Steiner's task force made landfall on 6 June, 3147 and initially claimed a reservoir outside Valloire's Sisku City in an attempt to force the Buena forces to surrender. After a failed attempt to seize the spaceport, they lost that foothold and Steiner led his troops in a retreat, circling around and capturing Sisku City. Valloire was back in Lyran hands on 10 July after the Irregulars' raiding campaign drove the Collective forces offworld with a little over a lance of working 'Mechs. [41]
