History

Early Life

Payson was born on Cerillos, one of the Southwest Trinity worlds from a modestly respectable family.[1]

Described as tall and lean, with cartoonishly large, protruding ears "like jug handles," Payson was steered into Camacho's Caballeros by his family thanks to his natural piloting talent, rather than end up prison because of his endless troublemaking.

BattleMechs

Payson was a noted WSP-1A Wasp pilot, demonstrating expertise in jumping and physical combat, including being able to make the 'Mech perform a forward somersault while jumping [2] and fighting a Phoenix Hawk to a draw in a melee duel.[3]
