'''XLV Corps''' (or the Forty-Fifth Corps) was one of the seventy-two Corps that made up the [[Star League Defense Force]]. Prior to the collapse of the [[Star League]] XLV Corps was a fairly large corps consisting of seven [[division]]s, nine independent [[regiment]]s and an independent [[Wing (Military Unit)|aero wing]].<ref name="SLp156">''The Star League'', p. 156</ref>

==History==
In [[2764]] XLV Corps was part of the [[18th Army (Star League)|18th Army]] assigned to the [[Outworlds Alliance]] [[Territorial State]]. They were the core of the 18th Army and were headquartered on [[Alpheratz]]. The Forty-fifth Corps was nicknamed the "Union Holders" by the citizens of the Alliance; The name refers to [[Operation UNION HOLD]], the SLDF's campaign in the Alliance during the [[Reunification War]]. The Forty-fifth had difficulty getting along with citizens of the Alliance, but the SLDF High Command had changed commanders and hoped that this would alleviate the tensions.<ref name=FM:SLDFp212>''Field Manual: SLDF'', p. 212</ref>

When the simmering violence and rebellion building in the [[Periphery]] erupted with the [[New Vandenberg Uprising]] and subsequent Periphery-wide uprising in [[2765]] XLV Corps were swept up in the violence along with the rest of the 18th Army.<ref name="SLp156"/>

XLV Corps was badly mauled during the Periphery conflict, with four divisions, four independent regiments and the independent aero wing all destroyed during [[2765]]. In addition to those units destroyed in 2765, the 247<sup>th</sup> Heavy Assault Regiment took heavy losses, and was disbanded in [[2766]].<ref name="SLp156"/>

By the end of the [[Hegemony Campaign]] XLV Corps was a shadow of its former self; the Flanders Division had been disbanded due to heavy losses, while the Democrats of Brazil had been destroyed along with the 150<sup>th</sup> Hussar Regiment and the 587<sup>th</sup> Heavy Assault Regiment. While it's known that the Tobruk Division survived the campaign, the final fate of the division is unknown. Two of the surviving independent regiments, the 279<sup>th</sup> Light Horse and the 128<sup>th</sup> Hussar followed [[General]] [[Aleksandr Kerensky]] when he led the bulk of the [[Star League Defense Force|SLDF]] on the [[Operation Exodus|Exodus]] in [[2784]]. The third surviving regiment, the 396<sup>th</sup>, remained in the [[Inner Sphere]] and joined the [[Federated Suns]].<ref name="SLp156"/>
