Overview

Striking from their garrison on Blair Atholl, Clan Jade Falcon's Rho Galaxy under Galaxy Commander Lizabet Danforth descended on Koniz on 19 May 3064 as part of Wave One in the second Jade Falcon Incursion.

While the Seventh Falcon Regulars, Twelfth Falcon Regulars, and the Jade Falcon Eyrie Clusters focused on the Koniz PTM, Star Colonel Fallon Hazen bid her 124th Striker to defeat the two battalion assault-class Barber's Marauder IIs mercenary unit. An Elemental heavy unit, Hazen dropped on top of Major Susan Barber's Marauders. Star Captain Avarah in her Fire Falcon was instrumental in delivering Elementals to ambush after ambush that broke the Marauders by 22 May. The following day a Trinary of Elementals cornered Major Barber's MAD-4S Marauder II which was struggling to stand after multiple leg attacks. Though Barber managed to kill dozens, she was eventually torn from her cockpit and killed. He last radio transmission was "and so good falls to evil, as inevitable as the tide rolling in." What few Marauders survived the bloodbath were stripped of their BattleMechs and consigned to the laborer caste throughout the occupation zone. For the audacious glory Star Colonel Hazen won in this battle, she was viewed as the likely next commander of Rho Galaxy, with Star Captain favored to take over the 124th Strikers when she wins a Bloodname.

Despite facing three Clusters, the Koniz PTM fared better, thanks to the literally thousands of fortifications across the surface of Koniz. With ten combined regiments at their disposal, Leftenant General Konrad Davis was able to frustrate the invaders for sometime. By the end of May, Rho Galaxy had inflicted moderate damage on the PTM, at the price of light damage to each of Rho's Clusters, accordingly Galaxy Commander Lizabet Danforth lifted off with the Seventh Falcon Regulars and the Jade Falcon Eyrie Cluster for their next target of Dustball. The 124th Striker and Twelfth Falcon Regulars remained on Koniz, expecting to prevail over the militia in short order. The Militia refused to cooperate, however. Aided by the commander's cousin, Hauptmann Klaus Davis, they were able to use expert knowledge of the terrain and a classical military education to frustrate the Falcons for several months to come. By the end of the July the Militia had sustained heavy causalities, though at the same time inflicting moderate damage upon the Strikers. In August the Eyrie Cluster returned from Dustball, having sustained moderate damage but still combat capable. Faced with dwindling supplies and enemy reinforcements the Militia was ultimately forced to withdraw to Graceland on 7 August, having sustained nearly fifty percent losses.

Aftermath

For her role in this battle, Star Captain Avarah was nominated for the Roshak Bloodname, and earned the right to bear it.
