Major General Beatrice Ling was a senior Star League Defense Force officer during the twenty-eighth century.[1]

Born around 2666, Ling commanded the Fifteenth BattleMech Division before being promoted to lead LXXII Corps, which she still commanded as of 2764 at the age of 98.
By that advanced age Ling's mental sharpness had started to deteriorate, making many relived LXXII Corps was posted to a peaceful part of the Magistracy of Canopus, though she had no intention to retire. Despite her condition, her troops were fiercely loyal, and wouldn't give her up if it was their choice.[1]
