History

War of '39

During the War of 3039 Hartmann would serve with the Second New Ivaarsen Chasseurs.

Clan Invasion

In May of 3050, Clan Jade Falcon invaded Romulus as part of the Second Wave of Operation REVIVAL, sending the First Falcon Striker Cluster to confront the Romulus Militia. Equipped with super-heavy combat vehicles and heavy BattleMechs but lacking aerospace support the militia assumed defensive positions with the capital Romulus City. Despite the ferocity of their defense the militia was eventually destroyed, suffering 90% losses, and much of the city reduced to rubble.

Ongoing guerrilla resistance against the Clan occupation, at least in part attributed to the First Somerset Strikers, eventually provoked Clan Jade Falcon into destroying the city of Remus City by means of an orbital bombardment as an object lesson, although they evacuated the city first. (destroyed by orbital bombardment in Clan Invasion) This action was barely noticed in the Inner Sphere in the face of a similar action by Clan Smoke Jaguar who however infamously killed hundreds of thousands when they destroyed the city of Edo on Turtle Bay around the same time (without bothering to evacuate the city first).
