Serving as Aide to Marshal Rudolph Geiger, Gruber was the real power in the RCT. Due to his distaste for Archon Katherine Steiner-Davion and the "traditional" Lyran bureaucracy he was firmly in support of Victor Steiner-Davion.[1]

This character is an easter egg reference to the movie Die Hard, along with every other officer in the RCT aside from the Marshal. Hans Gruber was the main antagonist, and portrayed by Alan Rickman.
