He was known in the unit as a stalker of heavy BattleMechs. Though successfully in most cases his 'Mech shows the scars of these fights, with his reputation increasing after each kill.[2]
In the Battle of Mendham he engaged single-handed a Marauder that was leaving a burning skyscraper and whose pilot panicked and run wild with its PPCs nearly disconnecting his 'Mech. Only capable of kicking and punching, Ian moved his Centurion to 60 meters from the Marauder and blasted the left-torso armor until the ammo there was hit and the enemy 'Mech destroyed.[2]
