Jacob Smith was a news anchor, who worked with Irian News Interstellar's affiliate Atrean Channel 5 on Atreus, as of 3071.[1]

On 5 May 3071, Smith was co-hosting a live news broadcast on Atrean Channel 5 with fellow anchor Bill Stafford when the broadcast was interrupted by producer Cormac Ramirez, in order for Ramirez to announce the Word of Blake was attempting to secretly censor news about the Word of Blake Jihad on Atreus, including by requiring live news programs to be broadcast on a five minute delay.[1]
