John Peter Lucas, Jr. was the father of Jack Lucas.

John Lucas, Jr. was a neo-Jesuit bishop who was born in the Terran Hegemony around the end of the twenty-seventh century. At some point, he married and moved to Zaniah in the Lyran Commonwealth where all six of his children were born. He groomed Jack and his younger brother for priesthood but Jack preferred the regimented lifestyle of the Star League Defense Force, leaving home to attend the Combat College of New Earth. Unfortunately, John didn't file the paperwork giving his children status as Hegemony natives, so when Jack graduated in the top ten of his class of 2747, he was turned down for assignment in a Royal regiment. Still, Jack would go on to be one of the most important generals of the Amaris Civil War, commanding the Third Army, and in his retirement returned to religion, spending nearly four decades as a parish priest and fulfilling his father's wish.[1]
