John W. Traeger was a mercenary soldier in the Martian Cuirassiers.[1]
History[edit]
In 3061, John met his future wife Sarah in a café in the city of Bostrop on Hall. Two years later, they married.[1]
For some time, John fought in the Martian Cuirassiers, serving a support role. His tasks included driving ammo trucks to support BattleMechs and assisting in maintenance.[1]
On 3 April 3073, when the Word of Blake 52nd Shadow Division attacked and destroyed the Cuirassiers on Hall, John was separated from his unit, trying to meet his wife for their anniversary. While wandering through the chaos, he recovered pressure-sensitive explosives from a fallen comrade's 'Mech, which he stuffed in a teddy bear. Once captured by Blakists, he handed the bomb-carrying plush toy to its former owner, a captured young girl, and told her to squeeze. It is strongly implied that the bomb exploded, catching Traeger in the blast. Traeger's fate is not explicit, however.[1]
