Chu-i Kari Kakashi was a MechWarrior in the Eleventh Ghost regiment during the War of 3039.[1]

As a Busosenshi, Kakashi experienced heavy fighting with the Eleventh Ghost on Matar against the First Kestrel Grenadiers, during the War of 3039.
While defending the tri-cities, Kakashi was isolated during an advance by the Grenadiers, having to move block by block to try to avoid enemy units. Her 'Mech in bad shape due to accumulated damage, she thought the end had come when she became surrounded by a lance of enemy 'Mechs, only to be saved by the last minute intervention of the rest of her company.[1] A number of Star League-era Highlanders, led by Tai-i Barry Corman, performed Highlander Burials that destroyed two of her attackers.[2]
This counteroffensive was credited with ultimately causing the Grenadiers to withdraw from the city.[1]
