Katsuro Sutoku was a Draconis Combine MechWarrior during the Dark Age Era.[1][2]
History[edit]
Sutoku had a long career in the Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery, having served for twenty years by the 3130s, with every indication he would serve twenty years more. Despite this length of service, he had no desire to advance in rank beyond being a mere MechWarrior, believing it was his proper place in the universe.[1]
His inner peace arising from this belief made him a formidable warrior.[2]
BattleMech[edit]
Katsuro Sutoku was known to have piloted a SH-P-H Shiro BattleMech, nicknamed Hashira (Pillar).[1] This 'Mech was assigned to Sutoku after its previous pilot Tai-sa Edwin Sota was disgraced, as a result of his loss of a company of 'Mechs from the Nineteenth Sun Zhang Academy Cadre to Federated Suns forces during a disastrous landing on Exeter.[2]

Sutoku is reported to be a Sho-sho (i.e. Lieutenant General) in one source.[2] Given however his lack of high rank is a major aspect of his character[1], this report is presumably in error.
