BRIEFING

Badger: Dresari is holding on by the skin of his teeth. He’s attempting to impose martial law with a series of checkpoints at the major city intersections. Taking these out will weaken his already failing hold on the capital.

OPERATIONAL OVERVIEW

Checkpoint Checkout: Dresari forces have imposed martial law on the city via a series of heavily fortified checkpoints. Take the checkpoints out and weaken Ian’s choke hold on the city. Intel reports many Assault ‘Mechs in the operational area, so watch your back.

DURING MISSION

Badger: Black Knight, this is Badger. Dresari checkpoints aren’t hard to find, but they’re well defended. Rebel command has given us a list of checkpoints and approximate force dispositions. Watch out for Demolisher tanks. They’ll be deadly in these close quarters.

Radcliffe: Nice of the rebels to provide the intelligence.

Eric: We take out these checkpoints, and the KFA will have the run of the western half of the city. Dresari will have to spread his forces paper thin or retreat to the palace grounds. Then, we crush him.

Isabel: Those turrets are murderous!

Eric: There’s the Alpha checkpoint. Let’s see how they like our credentials.

Eric: Alpha cleared.

Eric: This is Black Knight to Badger. Looks like more of the same at Beta. Moving in.

Eric: Group checkpoint cleared. Moving to Gamma.

Badger: Roger, Black Knight. Relaying progress to KFA. The rebels will start occupying Alpha and Beta.

Isabel: It’d be nice if they came over and gave a hand at Gamma.

Eric: Negative. I want the survivors to let Dresari know that it was the Legion who broke his back.

Eric: Targets at Gamma are history. Let’s clear Delta and return to base.

Badger: Black Knight, be advised. Rebel recon at Delta reports a pair of Assault ‘Mechs reinforcing defenders. Looks like Ian’s on to us. Suggest we break contact and regroup.

Eric: Negative. We do this now! Striker Lance moving to Delta.

Squire: Looks like you guys are gonna need a hand. Squire One, requesting permission to join attack.

Eric: Granted. Thanks for the hand.

Squire: “Just passing through. Looked like you could use the help.” The KFA knows a thing or two about payback.

Eric: <chuckles> Roger. Let’s break ‘em!

Eric: Black Knight, engaging hostiles at Delta.

Eric: Thanks again, Squire One. It would’ve been a lot worse without you.

Squire: Like I said, just passing through.

Badger: This is Badger. All Dresari forces in the western city are falling back. We have a good track on their main ‘Mech base. We take that out, and the door to the palace is open.

Eric: Roger, Badger One. I want a plan of attack drafted by two-zero-three-zero. Black Knight out.
